This study is from Public Agenda and was underwritten by the Gates Foundation. It talked to students who dropped out of college and compared their data with students who successfully completed two and four year college programs. The four major findings are: Students can feel overwhelmed by work and family pressures combining with school responsibilities; Students who dropped out were less likely to have any financial support for rising tuition costs beyond themselves; Students who dropped out put less effort into their college selection process basing their choices more on convenience than academics; Students who dropped out may have less of an understanding of how that choice will negatively affect their future.
